Gadigal Land, SydneyLocated on Sydney’s city fringe, Carriageworks is the largest multi-arts centre in Australia. It support artists and producers to develop and present major new works in performance, visual arts and related art forms. Reflecting the diverse communities of urban Sydney, Carriageworks’ artist-led program is ambitious, radical and always inclusive. We are deeply appreciative to Carriageworks for playing host to Purpose and partnering with us to present this event.
Getting There
Train
Carriageworks is a 10-minute walk from both Redfern and Macdonaldtown stations. Jump on the Inner West Line which passes through Central, Wynyard, Town Hall, Circular Quay, St James or Newtown station to access.
Bus
The closest bus stop is on King Street (near the Queen Street intersection); an approximately 10-minute walk.
If coming from Central, take Newtown buses 422, 423 or 426. Nearest bus stop is at University of Sydney at City Road, approximately a 10-minute walk to Carriageworks.
Parking
The accessible parking and taxi entrance is at 229 Wilson Street, corner of Queen Street. Limited time-zone parking is available for a fee in the surrounding area. Unrestricted on-street parking is available in the evening on the southern side of Wilson Street, between Golden Grove and Ivy Street. There is also a small number of unrestricted spaces on Forbes Street.
Paid parking is available at Shepherd Street Carpark in Darlington, a 10-minute walk to Carriageworks.
Bicycle
There are bike lanes on surrounding streets, and plenty of bike racks on site.
Accessibility
Carriageworks is wheelchair accessible. If you need a wheelchair, please see Carriageworks staff at the visitor services desk on arrival or call +61 2 8571 9099 to arrange prior to your visit.
Site access
An access ramp leading to the main entrance is located at street level at 245 Wilson Street.
Accessible parking is available at the end of Carriageworks Way. Enter via 229 Wilson Street.
Taxis can enter at 229 Wilson Street for level access entry.
The closest train station with wheelchair access is Newtown Station.
Facilities and services
The Carriageworks car park includes four mobility parking spaces.
Accessible toilets are located off the public space within the main building.
Service animals are welcome throughout the precinct.
Carriageworks does not have a hearing loop.

Masks - Masks are strongly recommended to be worn in all public spaces within Carriageworks. Please bring your own mask.
