Kate Eriksson — Founder, hello Ed

About Kate

Kate Eriksson has worked as a technologist and entrepreneur building growth initiatives for some of the world’s most influential companies. She’s lived in Australia, Stockholm, and Silicon Valley, and in 2019 founded health tech startup, hello Ed with a passion to help 1 in 4 people in the world with health or age-related conditions like Dementia, Autism Spectrum, Parkinson’s through to heart, sleep, or loneliness and isolation.

  • Kate has worked for companies like Ericsson, AT&T, and PwC, and built services for both global internet companies like Twitter and Skype, and Australian corporates.

After working for years with tech companies, startups, and emerging tech, she couldn’t ‘unsee’ the possibilities available for individuals, their families, and health providers when faced with a health or aged-related challenge. “People often think more about what’s no longer possible, than what is.” $47b was invested in health technology in 2020. There are extraordinary new possibilities, but they are too hard to find.

“Using AI”, Eriksson says, “we scan the world for health, home, and assistive technology across thousands of mainstream, niche, and emerging sources, assess its value and quality, and make it easy to understand in Spotify like stories and playlists, so they can get back to doing what they love. Products like consumer wearables, remote monitoring, medical devices, smart-home and voice assistants, through to technology that helps people talk, walk, hear or be safe."

helloEd is named after Kate’s dad, a quadriplegic. She’s a mum, twin, a Partner in an Australian VC fund, and deeply engaged in the growth of Australia’s startup ecosystem.
